COVID-19 UPDATE

Welcome Back!

UPDATED:  7/1/20 – The past few months have been difficult times marred with a lot of uncertainty and fear.  Even though businesses and states are ‘reopening’, many people understandably are very concerned about what that means and to what level they wish to participate.  If you or your family needs a change of scenery after the quarantine, we are back open and here to serve you.

Current COVID statistics for Wolfe and Lee counties in the Red River Gorge area can be found by visiting:  https://govstatus.egov.com/kycovid19

As of this writing (7/1/2020) there are a total of 3 confirmed cases of COVID between the two counties.

We are travelers ourselves and although nothing is foolproof, we have made some operational changes we would want for greater peace of mind if we were the guest.

We take this situation very seriously.  Here are the healthier practices we are putting in place that you should expect to better protect our staff and guests:

For the Cliffview Lodge –

Hand sanitizer will be provided in various locations.

We do a daily health check of staff members.

A plexiglass shield has been installed at the check-in desk of the Cliffview Lodge.

All Lodge staff are required to wear masks while in the presence of guests.

Social distancing will be expected at all times by guests and staff members.

A document explaining our new procedures will be placed in each lodging room and also given to guests upon check-in.

There will be no housekeeping performed in the guest’s room.

No staff will enter a guest’s room unless requested by guest.

Our continental breakfast will be adjusted to have only prepackaged and single serve (sweeteners and creamers, for example) items.

Conference room will be open for breakfast for expanded social distancing.

Our public hallway bathrooms will be out of service during this time.  Guests will need to use their lodge room private bathrooms.

Guests will be asked to not congregate in common areas of groups more than 10 people and adhere to the 6’ social distancing policy as required by CDC guidelines.

Guests will be reminded to use side entrances when available to help with social distancing.

Guests are strongly encouraged to wear masks and Cliffview will be happy to provide a mask to a guest upon request.

Solid surface touch-points, such as these, will continue to be disinfected:

Wall switches

Light switches

Door handles

Toilet handles and seats

Shower, tub and sink handles and controls

Thermostats

Remote controls

Clock alarm

For the Cliffview Retreat and Cliffview Lakeside cabins –

There will be no need to check in.  You will be provided keyless entry code to access your cabin.

Social distancing will be expected at all times by guests.

A document explaining our new procedures will be placed in cabin.

There will be no housekeeping performed in the cabins during the guest stay.

No staff will enter a guest’s cabin unless requested by guest.

Guests are asked to not congregate in common areas of groups more than 10 people and adhere to the 6’ social distancing policy as required by CDC guidelines.

Guests are strongly encouraged to wear masks and Cliffview will be happy to provide a mask to a guest upon request.

Hand sanitizer will be provided in cabin.

Solid surface touch-points, such as these, will continue to be disinfected:

Wall switches

Light switches

Door handles

Toilet handles and seats

Shower, tub and sink handles and controls

Thermostats

Remote controls

Clock alarm

We hope these best practices will allow you, our guest, to rest easy with us and focus on enjoying the unforgettable experiences we have to offer – while protecting our staff members on the front lines of hospitality.

We sure hope to see you soon!

Sincerely,

Joyce Belcher, Executive Director and the entire staff of Cliffview Resort
